Hello, thanks for the comment.

You say "your shame in humanity has driven you to neglect and discard our species as a whole." Do you think such a mindset will ever allow humanity to improve?

Humans as a species are still extremely young, especially when compared with the billions of years our planet as been around. If a child often acted foolish would it be okay to neglect and discard the child? Would that be to anyone benefit? Would the child ever grow and learn and change? Perhaps giving up on humanity because of our past isn’t the answer, but working towards change through education and awareness is.

I believe that nearly everyone understands the shortcomings and problems with the human race today and this article is not meant to put us down and make us feel bad... its meant to encourage people to look at their own individual lives and to find places where they can help humanity become what we desire.

If we look at others as the problem, point our fingers at all the things wrong, and ask why no one is doing anything about it, it’s easy to forget about our role in it all. If we remained focused on the negativity and don’t make positive changes in our own lives over time we may 'give up' on humanity and then unconsciously add to the problem by default.

When reading my articles in the future, please don’t assume I think my advice is the "only way" or is even the best way. I've written an article about questioning everything, even what's on this site.

I think it would be silly to believe that there is only 1 way to be happy, or 1 true way to be fulfilled... of course everyone is different and there are countless ways to bring about anything you want in your life... but I'm limited to being able to write about what I know or what I believe...

Everyone’s different, and each person has their own ideas of what will make them happy... but I think we also share a lot in common... we all want to feel fulfilled, loved, and at peace and my articles relating to happiness try to touch on those common points we all share.

This website is however about learning through travel. I truly believe getting out to see the world is the best way to grow as a person it countless ways. People don't need travel to be happy or to "see the world crumbling beneath their feet" and they don't need it for personal development either... but all I can do is share my experiences and my opinion that its an amazing way to gain life experience, to learn a ton, and to develop yourself

Perhaps with some time, you'll be free to stop neglecting and discarding humanity and instead work towards creating a brighter future for us all.

Again thanks for reading,

I enjoyed reading this article very much. I agree strongly with your point of view, although you go about things different then myself. My shame of humanity has driven me to neglect and discard our species as a whole, aside from select individuals who seem to rise above the smothering ashes of our failing civilization. Interesting to read this article written purely unbiased about the general shortcomings of humans today, when most of your articles I have read tend to lean towards a more biased point of view, where you believe only your way of being happy is the true access to happiness and fulfillment. Hopefully this is a sign of maturing on your part. I hope you know our ideals for humanity don't differ by as much as you would probably think. Maybe someday, before time runs out and it's too late, humanity will release the same things some of us already have long ago, and things will get better. If not, I don't know how much more we as a species can squeeze life out of everything we touch. Hopefully more of your articles will remain written with the knowledge that people aren't all happy from the same things, and although travel may enlighten you, some people don't need to really see the world to know its crumbling beneath their feet.
